2Social Inc. joins the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation in the fight against pancreatic cancer

An edgy social media campaign will be unveiled on November 1, 2016 to support Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Toronto ON – A new partnership between the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation (“PCCF”) and 2Social Inc. (“2Social”) will bring the fight against pancreatic cancer to social media in support of November’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month campaign.

“When my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I did not know the implications of this serious disease. After losing his battle this year, I felt the need to channel my experience into an awareness campaign that could offer Canadian families hope, insight and additional resources. With the support of my 2Social team, we are using November to build a community online that offers education to Canadians,” said Lauren Shirreffs, Partner at 2Social.

2Social is donating their time and energy to create PCCF’s first social media campaign.

“We feel very fortunate to have 2Social join in our fight against pancreatic cancer,” said Michelle Capobianco, executive director of the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation.  “Lauren and her team have created an edgy campaign for the most popular social platforms, Facebook and Twitter, that will engage Canadians to support PCCF’s efforts to fund research, and education, awareness and advocacy programs.”

“My goal is for this campaign to inspire Canadians to join the fight and help fund future ground breaking research to make a positive impact on patient outcomes.  I refuse to stand by and accept these low percentages of survivors and funding, and I hope with our campaign messages, other Canadians will feel the same,” continued Shirreffs.

Pancreatic cancer survivors and family members affected by the loss of a loved one will be sharing their compelling stories throughout the month of November.  “Pancreatic cancer only has an 8% survival rate and receives 2% of clinical trial funding. Patients are most commonly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at Stage 4, when options are limited,” continued Capobianco.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month runs from November 1 to November 30.  For more details about the campaign be sure to follow us on Facebook or Twitter during November.
