From controlling how long your messages are seen to viewing ads between your Snapchat stories… This week was filled with new features on social media!

Secretly Rolls Out

All Facebook Messenger users now have access to end-to-end encryption feature Secret Conversations. This feature will enable you to set a timer to control how long each message you send stays visible in the conversation on both devices (yours and your recipient’s). This is an option for the most sensitive conversations you might need to have or just for fun!

Messenger Lite

Messenger Lite is a slimmed down version of Messenger that offers the core features of Messenger for markets with slower-than-average internet speeds and a prevalence of basic Android smartphones. Messenger Lite will initially be rolled out in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela, with more countries to be added.

Aggregate User Age

Twitter announced the addition of aggregate user age information to the Audience API (application-programming interface). They are now able to share incredibly valuable data about the age clustering of any audience that you may want to explore on Twitter while simultaneously protecting against any one individual user’s information being revealed.

Ads go Live!

Snapchat ads API rolled out over this past weekend, enabling Snapchat Ads Partners to sell ad inventory via automated bidding platforms and algorithms. Learn more, here:
